The Girls

(written by: Chris Wu)

Stephanie Lee: When I first met Steph, I honestly thought she was a movie star. You have to take into account that Bring It On had just been released and was a popular movie; in fact, it put Gabrielle Union on the map as an actress. So, not knowing very much as a freshmen, I saw her and thought, ‘Dang! Gabrielle Union goes to Harvest!?! I got to tell my friends.’ However, once I was corrected of my error, I’m glad I met Steph. She’s a really cheerful (and sometimes crazy) woman and I have a great deal of respect for her because of her godliness. She’s been such a wonderful example for Sabrina and I know the two of them are super close. She’s a good sister, a wonderful wife and a loving woman who truly tries to be faithful and loving to God.

Jennifer Wu: This is a simple one. She’s my sister and I love her. She’s probably one of my closest friends and I take very seriously what she has to say (as pertaining to my fashion sense mostly). She’s grown up so much in her spiritual life that it is a blessing and a honor to see the Lord really grow her up. My sister has a passionate heart to serve the church as well as her friends. I know she’s brutally defensive about friends and family, so it bodes well to be her friend and on her good side. She continues to be challenged by God’s Word, grows in godliness, She’s single fellas!! If you’re interested, inquire within.

Jenny Chang: If I had to describe Jenny, I’d say…brutally honest. Or “pale”. I think next to Steph, Jenny is one of Sabrina’s closest friends. They’ve grown up in college together, they spent over 5 years together under the same apartment and have shared with one another many joys, tears, and laughter. I swear, they can read each other’s mind! That’s how closely in-tune they are! In the time that I’ve gotten to know her, I appreciate her honesty, her wit and her compassion.

Jessica Lam: Out of all the girl cousins Sabrina has, Jessica was the one I was not scared to meet. She’s just very nice, mellow and humorous to be around. She has a ton of funny–borderline awkward-funny–type of stories that make you die of laughter. Yet, at the same time, she’s very passionate about her job and her Cal Football team. Ask her, she touched Aaron Rodgers when they beat USC and when the students rushed the field. It was because of her that Aaron Rodgers is experiencing the success he has right now at Green Bay. Think about it.

Joanna Lim: When I first met Joanna, I had heard many good things about her. She went to Yale, she’s a medical student, her older sister went to medical school too, and her family is well loved and respected in the church community. Based on sheer intelliect alone, I was a bit intimidated. ‘Lo and behold, when I went to go pick up Sabrina at Jo’s house, I met Jo. Instantly, I was interrogated. On the outside, I was calm; however, on the inside, my mind was racing. I was answering questions left and right. It was intense. I know however she was being protective of Sabrina. They grew up together and they are pretty close. She’s articulate, witty, funny and a joy to be around (well, the times I’ve been there). Sabrina and I both agree that being around her make us feel smarter.
